Thame Netball Club aim to provide a fun based environment at training where we can still take skill development seriously, wanting every player to reach her potential. With our coach Lisa our sessions are both challenging and enjoyable.
We have been awarded funding from The Oxfordshire Community Foundation Grassroots Grants Project, to help us establish and develop a local network club. Initially we saw this consisting of two teams, aiming for four teams with a juniors section. We are close to achieving this as we are entering the 2010/2011 season with three adult teams and one junior squad. We are still supporting members in reaching qualified umpiring and coaching status.
Our current teams, Tornadoes and Hurricanes, play in the Aylesbury and District Netball League. We are looking to increase our membership and get our third (Cyclones) and juniors (Typhoons) up and running by next season.
With this in mind we are always welcoming new players to contact us and attend a session or two to see how they fit in before making any commitment to join.
Teams are selected with the help of our coach prior to the start of the new season.
The club is run by a committee of volunteers with the roles of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Captain and Publicity Officer.
